Also for my son, who is in his first year as a true-blue Cubs fans (he's 4). I want him to start off his Cubs fandom on the right foot!

i'd rather they win it for Bartman than for Santo. Santo was partly to blame for the 1969 collapse, whereas Bartman's life has been ruined for something that was really meaningless to anyone but a cry baby Moises Alou and the national sports media

it's not like Ron got screwed out of anything as a player. he's a great fan, sure, but just because he's vocal about it doesn't make him any more important to the Cubs history than Banks, Sosa, Williams, Sutcliffe, or whoever else
