sorry to clutter the game thread...but this is a very important favor to ask (I also posted it in the fantasy forum, but I doubt anyone's gonna look at it)

 

So I've got $800 on the line tomorrow. I'm currently up 5-4 in my h2h league, but am trailing in ERA which is the tiebreaker. We are both tied in SB, Wins, and Ks, and I am down .01 in WHIP. I have one pick up left so I need someone who can get me some Ks and hopefully a win. Here are my options:

 

Bailey vs the Cubs

Contreras vs. Detroit

Murray vs. Seattle

Paulino vs. Atlanta

Carlyle vs. Houston

Bullington vs. St. Louis

Laffey vs. KC

Hochevar vs. Cleveland

Bergman vs. Philly

Davis vs. Colorado

Jimenez vs. Arizona

I just saw some Ubaldo highlights and he has some nasty breaking stuff. he potentially will be facing some non-regulars as well.

The CUBS are division champs because they won more games than anyone else in the division.

Absolutely. You nailed it. All these other teams in our division, they were playing for love of the game and a ice cold soda pop after every game. The Brewers don't even pay their players. 8-)

 

as someone pointed out in another thread, the Cubs total payroll increased about 5M this year. the Brewers payroll increased about 14M this year.

Agree, Ubaldo and Bailey seem the best bets...both will probably face inferior lineups for part of the game, especially if you want to rack up some Ks. I'm not even sure a guy like Davis will pitch too long.

I understand going with Hill today since he, at the earliest, wouldn't pitch until Game 2 which would be on normal rest and likely won't start until Game 3. But if Lilly pitches today he'll be on 3 days rest before game 2 on Thursday.

Lilly will make his final regular season start on Sunday against the Reds, but wasn't expected to throw more than 40 pitches.

It is called MLB.tv and/or Extra Innings. If anything this good for them because it is more reason for them to sell you on buying one of those since you need them to see these key games.

DeRosa will go in later in the game. The other regulars wanted some ABs. Looks like Lilly will pitch 2 innings followed by a parade of relievers for an inning each. That'll be the spring-training part!!

He might not have been given an error on any play, but I can think of at least a couple times where the ball hits him in the face while he's diving and the runner gets another base because of it.
