It’s easier to make this list in the Wild Card era, simply because there are more playoff spots available, and the number of teams that reach a certain threshold of probability and miss the playoffs is directly proportionate to the number that make it.

Doesn't this say that they need to recalculate their formula for odds on making the playoffs?

in other news, Rockies have won 11 straight and, if they won 3 more, would win the NL West by a game.

How awesome would a Rockies/Cubs/Phillies/Padres NL playoff picture look?

Finally, FINALLY they are paying for their karma in 1969.

ONLY if the Phillies end up winning the East, and Mets end up missing out on the playoffs.

It doesn't look good right now. Really, the Marlins have got to be considered a really tough matchup for that collapsed Mets pitching staff. I'm not sure how much home field advantage the Mets get, either.

But -- you never know. What happens to a team after they played tight enough to blow the biggest lead ever? Do they finally calm down and play baseball? When your nerves finally explode and you lose it once and for all -- do you finally just relax, do you finally just get tired of being freaked out?

Mets will find out.

Actually, this is going to be one of the more exciting weekends of baseball in recent memory.

Oh yeah. Complaint number 1 is he doesn't inspire enough FIRE AND INTENSITY!

Theriot, Murton, & Fontenot for Beltran.

They need Fire -Murton(big Red), and Theriot & Fontenot are intense dudes!

If the Rockies win out the only thing they are assured of is finishing ahead of the Diamondbacks by one game. If the Padres sweep the Brewers, they'll take the NL West with the Rockies finishing a game back. Also, if the Rockies, Mets, and Phillies win out, the Rockies would finished tied with one of those two teams for the wild card.
