cincy would be pretty stupid to not pick up dunn's option, especially since there's a chance they could contend next year if they pick up another pitcher.

Good news: we don't have to face Dunn of Griffey.

Bad news: it will just hurt much more when we get knocked out of the playoffs by some random guy that no one has ever heard of.

Oh man...I agree. I have such a bad feeling. I pray the Cubs come out with guns blazing tomorrow.

I heard the Reds were looking into Victor Diaz.

Zambrano has to be happy to hear this news.

No kidding! I don't think any other hitter has pwn3d Zambrano as much as Dunn has... but I'm too lazy to actually look at stats, so I hereby make it official!

Honorable mention

Bobby Abreu (13 AB's, 17 PA's): .538/.647/.923

That's a very interesting list. A few surprises on there, but nothing major. What is interesting is that Dunn is probably not one of the 5 hitters in the division that you would not want Z to face. In fact, he is only the 3rd best hitter on the Reds against Z.

It's hard not to have bad feelings with this club. I'm just approaching it from the perspective that we're a marginal playoff club anyway -- it's not like in '04. I will go to my grave believing that was a playoff team, possibly a World Series team, that choked hard. This year I had us at 81-81, we're already beyond what I expected. If they can't take care of business here at the end? We simply didn't deserve it, didn't quite have enough bullets in the gun.

Especially considering who we are facing.

On the other hand, the NL competition is looking as weak as ever this year, and the Cubs, when healthy (so outside of the 3 weeks sans-Sori) have played like a 100 win team since June.

EDIT - and that's a pretty solid sample of like 80+ games.

Yeah that's true. Here's another 2 weak teams lined up for us, playing like an 81 win team should be enough.

That is a very interesting list. I know Bay & Lee are Cub killers, but I didn't know how bad they own Big Z. I am surprised how bad Miggy does against him.

How many HR's does Dunn have against Z?

who's John Rodriguez?

John Rodriguez was one of the first players off of the Cardinals bench the last couple years. I believe he is in AAA this year.

J-ROD !!!!!
