If we win and MIL wins, what do the standings look like?

The exact same as ... right now?

2.0?

Well I mean, its an odd question. Nothing would change for either of the top teams, I guess the Cardinals would be 8 back.

That made it a LOT easier to take Quade's ineptitude.

not if they lose by a run. terrible coaching by quade. just terrible.

If there are runners at first and third, chances are Pinero throws a different pitch to Soriano. It sucks that Quade sent him, but I'm happy with how things worked out.

very dubious argument.

No, I think its a pretty safe argument. Things change in a hurry.

Far less dubious than assuming the same sequence of events would have transpired, IMO.

It's not dubious at all. If you change something in the past, the future doesn't stay the same.

It's probably true, but you can't waste your time analyzing things that way. The permutations for any situation would be virtually limitless.

very likely soriano still hits a homerun there. more likely than not in my opinion. the idea that pineiro pitches him differently is very dubious. why would he? What would he do differently? he made a mistake and he likely would have with theriot on third as well.

I find the idea that you will produce the same result every time (edit: or even close to every time, or close to a majority) the same pitcher throws the same pitches to you absurd.
