Woo-hoo! From cubs.com

The Cubs have mapped out the rotation for the remaining 18 games, but it doesn't appear that Steve Trachsel is included. Trachsel will start Thursday in the series finale against the Astros, but the Cubs will be using Carlos Zambrano and Ted Lilly on short rest for the Sept. 17-19 series against Cincinnati.

I like this a lot!

Just got back from class... nice outing so far by Rich. Gotta hope the offense can score a few insurance runs, as this one is probably up to the likes of Scott Eyre.

Its only the top of the 8th, and Im shuddering thinking about who they use to close this one out if it comes down to that. As long as his first or last name doesnt begin with W we should be OK.

It's sad when I'd rather see Erye then Wood.

You might want to check Eyres stats lately before you act like hes horrible. After his rough start, and demotion to mop up, his numbers are great.

I think it will go either Eyre for two innings or Eyre then Wuertz.

His OBP is the same as Pierre's was last season... and people still give me crap when I say he shouldn't be leading off.

Who gives you crap?

Maybe not around here, but just about every Cub fan I mention it to brings up the age-old argument of "oh, but he hits so much better in the one hole". But who says that Lou has to cater to whatever King Alfonso wants? Just because he's hit .183 or whatever in the five spot doesn't mean that he'll perform that poorly over a whole season. You'd need a much larger sample size.

The guy swings at everything, doesn't walk, doesn't even steal anymore... he just doesn't fit the mold of a leadoff hitter. He should be hitting cleanup or fifth, but for some reason most Cub fans I talk to about it just won't accept that he could hit lower in the order.
