well, i only saw the second half, but i dont think the chargers are all that better than the bears. i think if they played this game again, the bears could win. oh well. not unexpected. lets take it out on kansas city next weekend.

LT is better than Benson/Peterson. that was the difference

At holding on to the ball...that's really the difference.

it was enough

Yup without the short field after the turnovers, the Chargers dont score a TD more than likely. And LT did NOTHING today, plain and simple.

SD the better team today, fewer mistakes and a very stout defense, especially against the run.

What irks me the most are the injuries. I hope they aren't serious but I would be suprised if MB doesn't miss significant time, becaue he *ALWAYS* misses significant time.

Danielle better be ready to take the step up that I think he is. AA is as billed so far - awful in coverage, great tackler.

Dusty better be ok because he looks great in there. I liked having two Sooners in the middle.

Yep.

Positives:

1) No Rex meltdown against one of the NFL best defenses.

2) Tommie Harris is back......completely

3) Dusty looks very, very good. If healthy he's a huge addition

4) Mark Anderson looked quick, didn't give up the point on runs which was his biggest concern

Negatives:

1) Turnovers

2) MB injury. Dusty injury

3) Terrible running game. Benson looked average

4) Pass protection was crap, too many breakdowns

Lions just won. Welcome to last place!

Yea and LT called out the Pats for posing after a playoff game TD, kinda hypocritical eh?

They mocked that clown sack dance of Merriman rather than posing.

Something I never really got about that. Merriman is also not being "classy" in the first place on LT terms then.

Hell Merriman wouldnt even shake hands before the coin toss when the captains took the field

Roidrage.

He was a non-factor outside of those two plays...not what I expect out of the reigning-MVP and the best offensive player in the NFL.

considering he's consistently been one of the best RBs in football during the last 5 years, and is on his way to Canton, I think he's allowed to have one down game against a very stout defense.

I dont think Raisin is demeaning LT, just saying that Roast saying "give the guy credit for what he did today" is ridiculous.

No doubt, he'll be fine and have another solid season but I think Roast is giving him far too much credit. Gates was a far bigger factor, imo.

ETA: I lived in SD for a year and am a huge fan of LDT, what he does for the city is amazing and he deserves the type of credit that Warrick Dunn gets. I like the guy and have no problem with his celebration today nor his defending Merriman last January.

Watching CSN, they're interviewing Rex, he was really struggling to find words to describe the interception, then said "it was just unfortunate, let's put it that way." Sounds like it was definitely Berrian's fault.

I dont think Soul would have said anything had he just said the unbolded, but the bolded part to me sounds like rubbing it in our faces.

I can see, when taken out of context, how that can be seen as rubbing it in your faces. But it's certainly not. Someone made a comment about how LDT shouldnt have posed because he had a crappy day. I stated that he was essentially the entire offense today. Plus it was a big TD and he is generally known as not being a showoff; I don't think it was fair for people to criticize him for posing at the end of that play.

One would think that I've earned enough credit here as a good poster not to have to walk on eggshells here to avoid being called a troll.

Gates was essentially the offense except for one trick pass from LDT and a few small catches. I know LDT is your guy, but no need to give him more credit than he deserves.

wrong, he called them out for imitating the Merriman dance and celebrating at midfield on the chargers logo. Unless the Tomlinson was imitating a Bear or stomping on their grounds, it's not hypocritical. He never said he had a problem with celebrating a touchdown.

Ahh ok my bad. My point still stands that LT had no business posing after his putrid day.

Got no problem either.

I was glad we were able to stop him until it was basically over. But any time you give one of the league's best team the ball in your own territory multiple times you will lose, and deserve to lose.

Chargers did exactly what a good team does, they took the gifts and cashed in on them.

Yeah, imagine how different the game is if Berrian doesn't quit on the play. He catches it and it's 10-0 at the half, he breaks up the INT and it's 6-0 at the half.

Are we seriously complaining about last place based on Week 1?

No, its just symbolic of the day, a day in which the Cubs and Bears lost, the Cardinals and Brewers won along with the rest of the NFC North

Withouth a doubt, just like the Patroits and Colts took advantage (and the Bears will take advantage against teams too).

Gotta feel bad for soccer10k, the Raiders looked awful. And the Lions didn't look that great.

Hard game to lose when you complete dominate LT and give him his worst rushing day ever at home. But it's definitely not the end of the world a lot of good came out of this game (of course bad too).

I seriously a "this just in. Grossman still sucks." post on another board. I want to punch these people.

And let me clarify I didnt really have a problem with LT posing, it just surprised me since he is one of the most well respected guys in the league, and after having a horrible day, I didnt expect it.

Yeah it's difficult to fathom that kind of attitude. Seriously sometimes it feels like 50% of Bear fans are pulling against the team. Grossman had very little to do with this loss.

This wasn't a Bears fan.

I'm not really too discouraged by this loss, our defense played just fantastic, unfortunately the turnovers by our RB's and the weird one on the punt really hurt us, and the lack of a running game hurt us. Grossman made some nice plays and I think didn't look too bad overall. I think the key is to get Benson running well next week, if that happens the offense will take off and we'll be fine.

I see. You'll see the exact same post from Bear fans too though, unfortunately.
