What exactly happened? I got home and the score was 6-2.

 

He utterly misplayed a liner hit straight to him in center; he broke one way and the ball went the other. The ball got past him, all the way to the wall, 3-run triple for Freddy Sanchez. If he makes the play cleanly (which would not at all have been impossible), it's a 4-3 game right now.

 

he did botch it, but trachsel shouldn't be giving up hard-hit balls like that on an 0-2 count. But then again we all (except for Jim) know Trachsel sucks.

 

Well, what did you expect with Trachsel's K/9 numbers? He's going to throw hittable pitches even when he's ahead in the count.

Rivera has me worried, because I'm sure he's going to throw everything at Rex to put the pressure on him. I hope I'm wrong, but I think we're looking at about 2 interceptions and 1 fumbled snap. Is Olsen playing today?

Their roles shouldn't have been switched in the first place. Unless Marshall is dealing with some arm issues, there was no reason to trade for Trachsel. It makes it that much worse that Trachsel took Marshall's spot in the rotation.

I'm telling you, there was some deadarm issues with Marshall. It's the only thing that makes sense.

I have trouble believing that anyone else from Iowa would be that much worse than Trachsel, and it wouldn't have cost us any prospects.
