the scout better be sitting in the exact same seat every day or he's running his mouth and isn't seeing jack.

that said hes probably right but on accident.

He said he discussed it with all the scouts that were there (about 12-15). This particular one I have not seen this year, I get to sit in these seats about 10 games a year. But I did over hear someone say that he was a former White Sox pitcher who had his career ended short by a rotator cuff injury and that he has written 2 books on pitching. He was probably mid-40s. If anyone can figure out who he is from that, then god bless. I didn't recognize him.

Larry Monroe? He's in charge of Major League Scouting for them.

Larry Monroe is correct. His book I have is "The Best Kept Secrets Of Major League Pitching" Like I said his big thing is conditioning and command. Follows a KISS method in developing pitchers.

So scouts and some fans notice a difference in arm delivery for Marmol and the Cubs coaching staff cannot?

They've been using him more judiciously lately, I'm guessing they've seen the same thing.

He looked almost bad last night.....got the out by virtue of a swing on a bad pitch. His slider was doing little more than spinning in the zone.

Rewatched his outing last night and his stuff didn't have the same bite. Dead Arm perhaps? Although he was topping out at 93.

it could have just been an off night. pitchers have them.

and seriously, he looked fine last night anyway. his slider to saenz was as good a pitch as he's thrown all year. his control was off, but i doubt it's because he's injured.

He's a hell of a guy, prob. the best HS pitcher to come out of the Chicagoland area. Mulder is from the area but didn't take the next step until MSU.

He was just on with Kaplan on WGN and said that lou is handling his bullpen terrifically. He sais you can't use guys everyday, even though fans think they should.
