Probable Starters:

Iowa: TBD

Tennessee: TBD

Daytona: RHP Jesse Estrada (4-5, 4.58 ERA, 131.2 IP, 103 K/37 BB, .273 BAA)

Peoria: RHP Marco Carrillo (6-6, 4.16 ERA, 125.1 IP, 91 K/53 BB, .242 BAA)

Boise: RHP Ryan Acosta (Bosie & Mesa: 0-0, 2.00 ERA, 9 IP, 8 K/4 BB, .233 BAA)

Today would have been Gallagher's turn at Iowa and Holliman at Tennessee, so we'll see.

Vitters, hitting 3rd and DHing, is 0/3 with a pair of lineouts and groundout to 1st. Kyler Burke has 2 hits and Boise is down 4-1 at the moment. Acosta went 4 and gave up a pair of runs.

I was at the Smokies game at Carolina, although I missed the first inning due to three traffic jams on the way to the game (one due to holiday weekend traffic headed to the coast and two separate accidents). Holliman looked quite good, pitching a shutout through 6. In the 7th he gave up back-to-back home runs leading off the inning to tie the game, but then retired the side before being removed for a pinch hitter. Estrada and Jones then each pitched a shutout inning. Offensively, the Smokies took a 2-0 lead in the 4th on a 2-run dinger by McGehee. In the 9th McGehee walked with one out, then advanced to second on a ground out by Colvin. Salas then hit a 2-out double and McGehee scored the winning run.

If West Tenn can beat Chattanooga (they're currently tied 2-2 in extra innings) the Smokies will have all but clinched a playoff spot. Chattanooga would be 2.5 games behind Huntsville with only 3 games remaining, and they'd have to pass both Huntsville and the Smokies in the standings. It's ironic that our former affiliation is in a position to help our current affiliation wrap up a playoff spot.

O_O, what's with the slacking with the boxes? You're not doing Raisin proud by not typing all that info out! Tsk tsk... [-X

Yeah, right. Raisin gave us boxes. This noob isn't living up to the hype.

It's called a placeholder. I'll have these up after I shower and get ready for bed. :P

Chattanooga beat West Tenn 6-4 in 13 (Chattanooga scored 4 in the top of the 13th, then West Tenn scored 2 in the bottom). Huntsville beat Birmingham 6-3 in a rain-shortened game (8 innings). Therefore Huntsville still leads the Smokies by 0.5 and Chattanooga by 1.5 with 3 games remaining. The Smokies can clinch a playoff spot today if Huntsville wins and Chattanooga loses.
