Wow. I can't believe they're bringing Maybin up now. I guess he'll play center and they'll slide Granderson to left. Pretty good D there.

I'm one of the biggest Floyd detractors on the board, (Floyd sucks. is my rallying call in flashchat) but releasing Floyd would be poor roster management. Survive with one backup IF for the next 2 weeks then recall Ronny on 9/1. Floyd's still a better hitter than Ronny off the bench.

 

That and Craig Monroe has been worse than Neifi against righties.

That's a good point about hanging onto Floyd.

 

Monroe might hit a few HR down the stretch, though, especially against LHP. Depending on what our major league scouts say, he may be worth a try.

Agreed on this being too early for Maybin. They are really gambling here, in my opinion. He's too hot of a commodity to be messing around with.

I agree. I dont believe that this will hurt his development though. I just dont think he is going to be very effective and will start next season in AAA.

 

If they get Wilson are they going to move Sheffield to Left and DH Casey and Thames and put Guillen at first.

If your goal is to obtain a power-hitting RH bat off the bench that can mash lefties, why on earth would you want Craig Monroe when you can have Sammy Sosa instead?
