I opened the thread looking for the Cubs as an option as well, because when they're playing the way they are right now, every team in baseball is scary. No one else matters if the Cubs suck this badly. If the Cubs were .500 this month, the Cards would still be 5 or 6 games back, and this weekend wouldn't carry nearly as much pressure. The Cubs have only themselves to blame.

The brewers are much more frightening to me because they have more pitching than the cardinals. The cards pitching has been decent as of late, but they just don't have what it takes to come all the way back. The brewers aren't a great team, but they are far and away better than the turd birds.

The Brewers, easily. Not sure about today, but coming into today's game the Cards have had 8 consecutive quality starts... that's not going to continue. The Cards are on a nice little hot streak, but it won't last. It ends tomorrow.

The only team that scares me in the NL Central is the Cubs. I'm scared that they will suck so that some other team (Cards or Brewers) will win this division. The Cardinals aren't really that hot. They're 500 in their last fourteen. They've only climbed back into this thing because both the Brewers and Cubs have sucked donkey balls over the last two weeks. If the Cubs had just played 500 ball over the same period, we would have overtaken the Brewers and still have a comfortable lead over the Cardinals.

The Cubs will have to pull out of this funk. If they do so, they should be able to hold off both the Brewers and Cardinals. If they can only win 3 of every 10 for the next couple of weeks, it really doesn't matter. Someone will pass them, but it will be due to Cubs sucking more than anything else.

i still think the brewers are the best team on paper in the NL central, but the cards are the luckiest team. So I really dunno.... I answered the Brewers, but they've been playing like crap for some reason.

Honestly, I think we're easily the best team on paper. That makes it even worse that we're this close.

And the Brewers, probably. Logic doesn't apply to the Cardinals though, they could easily win twenty-five in a row and win 90 games for no apparent reason.
