would have prefered somebody that has had more than 4 ab in the last month up there :\

yeah, i don't second guess lou very much, why would ward bat fifth in this game?? the 6,7 hitters make much more since right there.

what's the point of bringing in cedeno there?

Hoping he could score from 1st on a double. Of course he probably could have just put Pie in to run and had him stay in the outfield and bat in the 9 spot.

but i just don't see the point of subbing for the go-ahead run there, especially when it's your best hitter. if cedeno has a chance to score, the game is already tied, and it's a much safer assumption that he won't score, so you pretty much just take your best hitter out of the game for no reason.

if it was the game-tying run or if it was daryle ward/cliff floyd or someone similar at first, i wouldn't have an issue with it. i think it's bad to do it for rammy, though.

I don't know if I want Ramirez running around the bases trying to win the game with his knee. Unless it goes to 10 / Reds score a couple here Ramirez won't bat again.

if ramirez or cedeno has a chance to score, the game is already tied and there's a good chance he'll get another AB in the game. if it's a RBI single, then cedeno has no chance to score anyway, and we're stuck without our best hitter in the lineup for the rest of the game.

Is it tied?

Please don't tell me it's tied.

Edit: Nevermind, thought the Cubs were winning 6-5 and not the Reds.

DeRosa always is doing some kind of awesome pose in all the celebration from photos from the Cubs other big home wins this year. He's due to be the guy the others are posing around this time.

My logic is totally sound.

"Play for a tie at home, a win on the road"

The tying run was in scoring position.

I think there were other factors in this case, namely Ramirez's health and the fact that with the runners running on contact (2 outs) and a power hitter at bat, a double gives the Cubs the lead.

I wouldn't expect anything less from someone with "mojo" in his handle. :P
