I wouldn't mind movie Lee out of the 3 spot next year

Riot

Lee

A-Rod

A-Ram

Soriano

;)

Even if without ARod, I'd like Lee to hit second.

So Aram plays 3rd, Arod at SS, and Riot at 2b?

I like Theriot at Short but if we have ARod, Riot can build refrigerators for all I care.

Stupid thread title. Really got me worried for nothing. FYI, a slumping player isn't automatically injured.

A) How is asking a question a stupid thread title?

B) Where did anyone say he is automatically hurt?

Oh crap, is derrek Lee inured? Oh crap, is Ramirez injured. Ring a bell?. You started both the threads. Turns out Ramirez just has fluid build up with no structural damage and Lee isn't injured at all. In other words, the thread titles sounded "worrying" as Mizzou stated. I agree.

i dont think it was too dumb to start a thread called "is aramis ramirez injured" since he's now missed several games and his return is still uncertain. you can say the fluid isn't an injury, but it might as well have been given the effects it has had.

My point was, I over-reacted because of the title of the threads. "Oh crap". . That's all. it's obvious he, or a mod, changed the title. So I think the point is valid.

he is in a slump right now guys...

i know...bad time to be slumping, but there you have it

he will have 20 plus homers this year

count on it

dlee is the man and he will help this team reach the postseason

i honestly expected Lee to have a bit of a down year considering how much his daughters illness seemed to effect him. im sure its more important to him than baseball right now, and it has shown to some extent

I'm glad someone brought that up. I've thought all along that he's just got his personal situation (daughter) on his mind this year. He seems distracted and lacking some focus. I hope the team has offered some sort of couseling for this because it is a big thing to contend with, I'm sure.

6/35

.171 in his last 35 AB.

After that long of a 'slump' it's the hitting coach's job to fix his mechanics.

35 AB's averages to about 7-8 games...why do you say "slump" like it's unusual for a player to slump that long?

Because just before that he had 2 good games and was in another slump. Not to mention I don't remember a time where Derrek Lee was this bad. Whatever it is I am hoping he gets it out of his system now.

I don't know what's wrong with him, but teams continue to drill the outside corner and Derrek just watches strikes go by. If I'm Lou, I give him the day off today just to clear his head. Sit him today and that'll be well over 48 hours without swinging the bat for DLee. It certainly can't hurt.

Maybe it has something to do with his daughter. I obviously don't know what the issue it, but he just looks lost/uninterested at the plate.

Teams have even taken to throwing fastballs right down the middle of the plate - How many times have we seen him take a fb placed on tee for strike 1 or 3?

You really don't want a ram and a rod so close together.

Say Car Ram Rod! Say it!

Please don't complain about Lee. He should be the least of our worries. His OPS is well above his career average.

.157 now.

How big of a sample size do we need until everyone admits there is something wrong?

After going 3-4 today with a run scored and a RBI, are you finally prepared to admit there isn't?

:?: Whether he's in a slump or not isn't really affected by a single game. I don't think Lee looks comfortable out there -- whether it's an injury problem or an effort problem, he doesn't seem as willing to swing the bat, particularly on the outside half of the plate.

Um, did you read his post or just mine? He's not saying Lee's in a slump. He's saying there's something wrong with him, i.e. something more.

Thats how it appeared when his swing wasn't the same (I have been saying that since page one and they even pointed it out yesterday on the radio broadcast).
