and once again, we take 2 games of a series, staying on part with my "2 each series to go 12-8" prediction for this 20 game stretch. so long as they keep that up, they will be in first by their next off day.

One Cub team stat that could have been better today: runners LOB. I don't care what the score is - leaving double digits on base is not a good thing.

I know, I'm a spoil sport. But you can always improve your game, and besides, after 20+ years of witnessing Cub baseball, I know anything can happen, and likely will. So, gotta get those guys on, over, and in - runs don't always come in abundance like today.

Just to stir the pot reds announcers building up that we've just seen Adam Dunns last at bat in a reds uni........Not the brewers please

thats because the Reds announcers dont like Dunn. he is very very underappreciated in that town

no no no no. leaving runners on base is a symptom of scoring a lot of runs. teams that score a lot of runs leave a lot of runners on base. by and large, year after year, the teams that leave the most runners on base make less outs and score more runs.

i think it's a very positive thing, the cubs aren't relying solely on hitting in the non-existent "clutch". teams that do that generally don't have any staying power.

Yeah, we can't end every inning with a 2-out HR.

I have no problem with Lou playing the hot hand in Theriot. My problem is Fontenot and his sub .600 OPS since the break. Hes cooled off, and now its time to try and find the new "hot hand" for the week.
