I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the Cubs getting swept in this series. The D'backs might be young and not hitting, but the Cubs just do not play Arizona well from year to year. On a good note, they do play them better at Wrigley versus playing in Arizona.

This is true. In 2004, when the Diamondback were absolutely awful, they still owned the Cubs.

And I believe in 2003 we had trouble beating them..

which is relevant, as the rosters are exactly the same now as they were then

Before this year we also had a boatload of trouble with the Giants. I'm not worried about the past, I'm worried about the present. We're the better team and we should take the series.

I can't think of an NL team that hasn't given the Cubs trouble in the Dusty Era.

If the Cubs ever had a chance to beat Webb with Marquis, it's during this run. Things that don't make sense are happening with this team right now, and they just might shock us again.

I just checked the lineup a minute ago, then ran to the bathrooom to throw up.

I'm sure I've seen a worse lineup before. I just can't remember when.

C Blanco

1B Mabry

2B Perez

SS Cedeno

3B Ramirez

LF Murton

CF Pierre

RF Jones

In 3 day games Webb has started this year...he has a 5.09 ERA

there's the bright side i've been searching for 8-)

Fontenot swells up with pride after finding out he's hitting third, then makes lou look like a genius as he drives in four. recap reads: Mike Fontenot pulls a Koyie Hill.

cubs win, everybody goes home happy and then gets drunk and plays NCAA Football 08.

Tomy, I bought it last night but haven't gotten around to playing it. Planning on starting a dynasty tonight or tomorrow though. Probably with my alma matter of East Carolina, they could use all the help they can get.

It's a solid game. They improved a lot of the sloppy visual issues from last year, and the game play has some nice new touches. Running the ball has never been so fun.

I guess we're all too scared to post the lineup after looking at it (myself included)?

What are you talking about? It's already been posted.

I talked to a friend that said it was even better than past years, so i went out and bought it last night. that was my other question about the recruiting though. i had heard that they changed it up and added more features to it and i didn't want it to get too tedious, good to hear people like it though.

I posted the lineup a few pages back.

yeah NCAA is awesome. I really like the recruiting system.

Hey Fred, any way you can tell us what the Cubs' record is when Wayne Messmer does the God Bless America?

Fred's comp. might jam up because he's probably sang it 10,000 times.

Oh...I guess I didn't look far back enough.

Yeah, I see it now.

I heard it on Murph over lunch.

Fonty hitting 3rd.

Not much can be done given our current situation, so I'm not blaming anyone, but let's just say this game will be........interesting.

I do like that Lou plugs Moore right into the starting lineup. Why not?
