I'm thinking you meant in July

But yeah, have a great trip. And he's right about not wanting to go in July, it's monsoon season. Bombay averages like 30 inches of rain in July... one day a couple of years ago it rained 38 inches in 24 hours there. And when it's not pouring, it's about 95 degrees with 150% humidity.

Well, I'm going to be in Bangalore so it should probably only be in the 80s but the humidity and monsoon will still be on and I handle humidity like your standard Californian (poorly).

Psh, quitting not even two months after I handed him the reins. What a chump! :P

I'll probably be back in action doing these come August 15th or 16, by the way. I look forward to it!

We should see Wood in Mesa again today.

YAY

Yup, sounds like everything was ok after the first outing and he's on schedule like any other reliever would be. Michael Bunton will probably relieve him today.

Any possibility that Wood could become a starter again this season or are they just trying to get him by with 1 inning every other day?

No. They signed him as a reliever, and he's rehabbing as a reliever.

Definitely a reliever this season.

Wood doesn't do as well today - 1 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K/0 BB, 1 GO-1 FO:

AZL Padres Top 1st

Jeudy Valdez strikes out swinging.

Keoni Ruth grounds out, shortstop Gian Guzman to first baseman Luke Sommer.

Yefri Carvajal doubles (11) on a fly ball to left fielder Clifford Andersen.

Zachary Brown singles on a line drive to center fielder Chih-Hsiang Wen. Yefri Carvajal scores.

With Edgar Garzon batting, wild pitch by Kerry Wood, Zachary Brown to 2nd.

Edgar Garzon flies out to right fielder Nelson Perez.

Michael Bunton has come in in relief to pitch the second inning. It looks like Andy Lopez (came over in the Ryu trade) is rehabbing and in the Mesa lineup.

Iowa is completing a suspended game from May 24th right now. At the time it was suspended, the score was 7-1 Iowa in the 5th. The game is now in the 7th and it is now a 7-4 Iowa lead after Geoffrey Jones gave up 3 runs in the 5th.

Iowa wins the suspended game 9-7 in 10 innings. Rapada gave up 3 in the 9th (only 1 earned), which sent it to the 10th. Piggy pitched a scoreless 10th to get the win. Cherry also went two innings of scoreless relief. Kroeger had a sac fly and Felix had an RBI groundout in the 10th to give Iowa all they would need.

Peoria won 8-3. Pina got the win as he went 6 allowing only 4 hits, 2 runs, struck out 1, and walked 1. He did give up two HR's. Ruhlman allowed a run in the 7th on 3 hits and Maestri pitched two perfect innings in the 8th and 9th. Blake Lalli hit two solo homers. James Adduci fell a homer shy of the cycle. He also drove in 3. Wellington Castillo also had a solo bomb. Every Chief had a hit except Canzler and Schermerhorn.

Alberta Cabrera had a really good game for Boise.... 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K. Tony Thomas homered in his Boise debut, and Donaldson has been on base in all three of his ABs (2 singles and a walk). He also stole a base and caught the only attempted steal against him.

Koyie Hill had a nice game (3-3, 2 doubles) with Iowa in tonight's game... maybe we should call him up!
Um, he already is up. Did you perhaps mean Soto had the good game?
