I'll probably see this game on a TV in O'Hare. :)

SF: LHP Barry Zito (6-9, 4.90 ERA)

Zito took another loss in his final start before the break, yielding six runs (five earned) over four-plus innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. Zito hasn't pitched like a frontline ace this season and completed the worst first half of his strong career. After a few days off at home, Zito will hope to regain the form that yielded the seven-year, $126 million contract he signed last offseason, the highest contract given to a pitcher. The Giants have lost Zito's past six starts and only one of those outings has been a quality performance.

Probables

Zito is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in one career start against the Cubs and has been far better at home (3.75) than on the road (5.54).

Eh. Maybe we could see a DH Wednesday.

Just because it rains on Tuesday doesn't mean they would suddenly switch to AL rules for the day

I just hope the Cubs are patient today, as Zito is likely going to throw a lot of pitches out of the strike zone.

did soto get sent down?

:?:

To make room for Kendall on the 25-man roster, someone needs to be sent down/DFA'd/traded/released. Likely candidate would be one of the two other catchers on the roster. If Soto is sent down, there's no chance of the Cubs losing a player.

Uhm. There's room for Kendall. You do remember Cubs traded Bowen?

They DFA'd Bowen before the game and brought up Petrick. So trading Bowen doesn't affect the 25-man roster. Someone still needs to be dealt with.

we got this. excited to see if kendall is worth a damn.

Ofcourse he will be. And all of the people moaning and complaining and over reacting in the trade thread will be verbalizing his name soon.
