Hmmmm....

 

That wasn't many pitches. Leave Wuertz in to start the 9th??

 

What? He's thrown 27 over two different innings.

 

Howry makes me a little more nervous than Wuertz, that's all.

 

It's all about my feelings, you know 8-)

I always thought that the win was awarded to the pitcher who had what was ultimately the winning lead the longest if the starter didn't go 5.

 

Not necessarily. Len just read out of the rulebook that when the starter fails to go five innings, the official scorer can decide which reliever gets the win. They usually go with who pitched better (sometimes they do go with who had the winning lead though).

Who would have thought when Theriot homered in the 4th to make it 7-6 that the score would remain the same heading into the 9th?

I can't tell if you are joking. The ESPN announcers will be all over Bonds for the whole game.

 

It's better than watching on MLB.TV with CSN.
