In a situation like this one, it's up to the official scorer's discretion.

 

He/she awards the win to whichever reliever he/she felt was the most effective.

It's up to the official scorer. I think it's whoever pitched the best if the starter doesn't go 5 innings. Either Wuertz or Marmol probably deserved to get it.

Something's happening here. If we can't figure out a way to lose to a soft-tossing lefty who owns us AND was red-hot coming into the game AND was staked to a 5-0 lead, I'm not sure when we will figure out a way to lose.
