Hey guys Atkins will start tomorrow (Sun.) Jon Mueller is starting game two for us tonight...

Derek

Thanks, I thought there'd be a good chance of that happening, but I went with what was at MiLB.com.

By the way, thanks for answering all my e-mails on the air in the past.

Samardzija had a solid outing today, but once again not much in the strikeout department: 5 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 K/2 BB, 4 GO-9 FO.

Daytona up 3-1 after 5, so Jeff could win his first game of the season if the Daytona pen holds on for two innings.

patterson has a single, double and triple... this needs to go into extras so he can go for the cycle!

cedeno was just pitched around to load the bases... can't say i blame albuquerque for doing this.

Well, it got to 3-1 before they decided to walk him intentionally.

yeah but the three balls were in the dirt. To me it sure sounded like they were throwing trash and hoping he'd hack at it; when he didn't, they put him on. Hence "pitched around."

It's to the point now where the Cubs must call up Cedeno and play him at SS everyday until the trade deadline. Fontenot can't handle the position defensively, and I would think if the Cubs thought DeRosa could handle it, he wouldn't have been their 5th choice there this season.

Play Ronnie. If he still doesn't hit in the ML, get somebody at the deadline or just stick w/ Derosa.

I think we'll have to dump Izturis before we call up Cedeno. I do agree that we are at the point where Cedeno should be given another shot.

Somebody tell me why, even despite what he's done at AAA, I'm not that excited about Cedeno.

I want to be, but for some reason i'm not.

Izturis just needs to be DFA'd. He is worthless, and his contract is up at the end of this season anyway. It's time to let him go. Of the trio of losers, Izturis is definitely the easiest to get rid of.

I agree, but there also the possibility some teams may take a chance on him.
