He was just promoted to AA Tennessee (last week I believe). He put up an .850 OPS in in high-A Daytona before the promotion. Still doesn't know how to take a walk though. Edited by E.J.

Welcome to the board!

(and, about your sig....

Im pretty sure Jones doesn't have any options so that would be impossible...

But I'm all for DFAing him!)

I'm usually the first one to joke about going off topic, but. .

I'm all for bringing Murton up but he should share RF with Floyd, who is putting up .307/.379/.424. Not bad at all. We should go with what's working, but Floyd does need to rest much of the time.

Anyone know where Tyler Colvin is, and how he's doing?

Tyler Colvin is in AA Tennessee, here are his stats between high-A Daytona and AA Tennesee. He's struggled with his plate discipline quite a bit.

245 AB at Daytona: .306/.336/.514/.850

36 AB at Tennessee: .250/.270/.333/.604

pretty darn good OPS considering his bad IsoD

Yeah, if he can put up a good SLG to make up for what's likely to be a low OBP, he might be decent. It's not bad to have a guy like that on the team (not more than one though). If his numbers stay like that, he'll have to become a hitter like Dunston or Randall Simon that swing at everything yet are still hard to K because they learned how to hit bad balls, foul off pitches, and make contact. If he K's a lot with that low of an IsoD, he probably won't make it in the majors.

Some quotes from a Colvin interview last month at ITI:

Q: What have you worked on and tried to improve most this season?

A: I’ve been trying to really improve my approach at the plate. That’s the type of thing that doesn’t come in one season. Last year, I was working on that a lot in Boise and I’m still working hard on that here this year. It’s all about pitch selection and trying to hit the right pitches while you’re up there.

Q: What do you think you need to improve the most on, on your way through the system?

A: Plate discipline. Just trying to get pitches in the zone to hit and stay off of the ones that are outside my zone.

He talked up OBP and plate discipline after he was drafted too.

Colvin sucks guys.
How about actually posting something meaningful for a change instead of just informing us who you think sucks?
