I know I'm prob late but has anyone thought of Cedeno coming up and playing 2B because he's tearing it up in the minors? It's been mentioned already probably, right?

No, I don't think it has...that is interesting....

i really doubt they're going to add another position player. if they bring someone up to play a position, they obviously aren't sending own a pitcher to do so, so tt just further log jams the position player situation if they want to bring up another pitcher after they make whatever deal they want to make.

He'll be back up at some point, but I seriously doubt it will be today.

Good call...but that would require ANOTHER man going down... :?

Jones gone, Theriot demoted

12th pitcher up, Cedeno recalled??

That would make sense, right? If we can manage to move Jones, it gets a lot easier, plus we can afford to send Theriot down if we call up another player capable of handling SS.

Well my idea would be seperate to the pitcher move. If they bring a P up then Jones or someone will get moved. If the "surpise" is cedeno up, then Theriot will be sent down. Now you bring up Cedeno who can play 2B and SS. Since Theroit is struggling a bit it's not a bad idea to give Cedeno a try again.

only 2.5 hours till the opening pitch...how long until we know what is going on?

About an hour and a half from now when Pinellia sets the lineup.

We got an hour till lineups and no announcement of a roster move?

wtf?

Maybe there isn't going to be one.

This is my feeling at this point. Lou is just messing with us.

Guess who's at short?

It's 3:45 in the afternoon at Wrigley Field and Ivan DeJesus is hitting grounders to short and Mike Fontenot and Ryan Theriot.

A little while ago, bench coach Alan Trammell was at the bag with the two, apparently practicing turning double plays.

Could Lou Piniella's big surprise be to give Fontenot more playing time at short, allowing Mark DeRosa to move back to second and Theriot to become the back-up at both spots?

We may know soon if the Cubs make a roster move to get back to 12 pitchers.

Update: Piniella said before Monday night's game with the Rockies that he would consider Fontenot at short, but that DeRosa will start in right field Monday night. The Cubs still haven't called up a 12th pitcher or made any deal relating to their surplus of outfielders, but there is expected to be some movement Tuesday.

Argh. How long is this going to drag out, with no payoff?

yeah sure, why not? JONES AND IZTURIS FOR AROD!

SWEET.

So our lineup would be

Soriano LF

Griffey 1B

Lee 2B

Aram 3B

Arod SS

Dunn RF

Pie CF

Bowen C

Hahaha, that lineup looks so ridiculous with Bowen in it.
