On a brighter note...

I was able to get Ron Santo to sign two baseballs before today's game (gave one to my old man). I've been told that I appeared on the beginning of the Rangers broadcast of today's game as I was waiting for Ronnie to sign the baseballs, too.

Couldn't agree more. I think he gets more pissed when the Cubs play bad than any of us here.

Check out the game thread after the 2nd inning. I didn't hear it but apparently he was cussing and calling the Cubs minor leaguers. For some reason Gameday Audio didn't cut the mics after the Rangers scored 3 runs and Ronnie started ranting (leads me to believe this happens on the regular). You could apparently hear a woman's voice say "Ronnie, stop it" after his rant as well.

Ron was getting furious as the Cubs were stranding more and more players...usually he just sounds miserable, but he was much more angry this time. I know he said something like "watching this team is like agony" at one point.

Ron is a great guy to talk to. Talked to him for a bit inside the hotel in Denver a few summers ago. Usually signs autographs without any problems as long as he isn't cutting time short.

Ronny's the best. You can catch him at the team hotel bar after every road game.
