Bag of baseballs.....come on bag of baseballs...

It doesn't have to be baseball's, it could be golfballs, softballs, tennisballs.

I'll take hockey pucks.

And I'll go as far as to take badmiton birdies.

Ok, it seems the Rangers are interested. The question is... why?

Jones should be traded for anyone whose contract expires at season's end, no matter how bad, and I suspect all that is keeping a trade from happening is Hendry trying to find some way he won't have to eat any salary this and next year.

One shuttlecock shall do.

I'd just take the bag.

FWIW- On ESPN's Rumor Central front page (sorry no Insider) it is insinuating Grif to the North Side and Jaques to Texas. Again, I know they just search and copy, but there it is if anyone wants to check it out.

if anyone with insider wants to provide us with some key quotes that would be awfully kind

Lone star state of mind?

Jun 21 - The Cubs have talked with the Rangers and several other teams about deals involving outfielder Jacque Jones, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Jones has another year left on a contract that pays him $4 million this year and $5 million next season, which could make it tougher to deal him to a would-be seller such as Texas.

Quoting stuff from Rumor Central isn't really stealing pay service, all they are are rumors from public newspapers posted in one central location. And this doesn't say much of anything we don't already know

Honestly, I'd eat about 70% of JJ's contract if it got his horrible bat off this team.

Addition by Subtraction... it's quite simple and I agree with you.

If the Cubs offload a bad player to every team that spanks 'em, they could turn over the roster within the next month.

Someone posted a few days ago that a scount(who frequents this board) said that the Rangers GM is viewed as the most incompetant in baseball.
I believe that was HoopsCubs referring to his source (who he hasn't specifically said is a scout).

I was just thinking that.

But seriously, maybe we'll hear about Jones being traded in the middle of the White Sox series. Man, that would make my weekend.
