the problem is, waivers run on saturday night...both those guys were picked up off waivers. maybe we could change that.

i think that replacing nomar in the lineup is ok b/c he hasn't been playing. you can make roster substitutions for position players if they are day to day w/ injuries.

I disagree. I've always been under the impression a guy had to go on the DL before you could replace him with someone not on your roster.

well, i'm 99% sure that's not the case.

You can move a guy out of your line-up if he's injured and not playing. You just can't place him on the DL without him actually being on the DL.

You can also find examples of these moves being announced in the Weekly threads almost every week. It's a normal transaction in the league.

Same team has dropped Aubrey Huff from the starting line up and inserted Dmitri Young into the starting line up for Sunday. Not a thing wrong with Huff.

Assuming I'm wrong on the Nomar transaction, what about this one that I also mentioned. There was nothing wrong with Huff. If you say this one is okay as well, then apparently we are allowed to make daily transactions.

I think it would make more sense to run waivers on Sunday night. That way they would take effect for the beginning of the new week and wouldn't result in any issues. There could still be issues relating to picking up free agents that ave cleared waivers, since that can be done at any time.

Buddiga and Alamo are going down to the wire...might come down to the ATL-HOU game - he has Franceour, I have R. Soriano and C. Lee.

Quakers go down to defeat again. I may have to pull the plug on this season. I am willing to listen to offers for Beltran, but they will have to be good.

Arroyo with a QS tonight! I hope that's a sign of things to come. Overall, a solid week for me pitching wise this week!

Is the reason waivers is set up for Saturday because there is a chance you could miss out on a player to someone with a higher waiver claim, therefore you still have time on Sunday to shop for someone if you don't get your guy?

I actually deleted my post, but someone quoted it before I deleted it.

The reason I deleted it is because my Kaz Matsui comparison was a bad example. I actually added him in the middle of the week from my reserves after I originally added him when BJ Upton was just sitting out several games before officially being put on the DL.

I agree that this should be allowed, but with no rules to reference, I have to ask.

The rules are right here. In this case, your question is actually addressed too! The Tejada move is legal the other moves aren't. Waivers run Saturday night so people can adjust their lineups for the next week while they have time on Sunday as opposed to Monday morning. I suppose the problem there is if you want to make a one-to-one switch? I think you need to carry an extra player for Sunday in that circumstance.

To answer your question regarding the outcome of your game, I would (and will in fact) reverse the illegal moves to void the points scored today.

My match with Juan is also going down to the wire; at the moment I lead by 0.05 points. I need Sampson to not allow Texas any more runs.
