i have been waiting for them to fall apart...but...it just isn't happening...

as it looks right now, they are very much poised to run away with the division...

unless the cubs can go on a 10 game or more streak...i am starting to think that it won't happen...

I predicted the Brewers would win the division before the season started actually. And everyone laughed at me.

What's with the "woe is me" routine? Quite a few people picked the Brewers. I doubt everybody laughed at you if you did pick them.

my dad did, but then my mom was all like "what about if they stay healthy and stuff?" and then my dad was all like "but they're young or something" and then my moms was all "but all the other teams in the division suck"

Dont worry I added Sheets to my fantasy team today, so he will start sucking. I picked up JJ Hardy awhile back, and he hasnt done squat since. I have Barret and Andruw Jones also. Ya talk bout some guys not living up to their career avg's.

Can you make a package deal to trade Barrett for Estrada? Consider it doing your Cubs duty.

Hell I already picked up Braun hoping for that effect.

I picked the Brewers to win the division before the season started, but now I'm changing my position........GO PIRATES!

Yeah, a lot of people on this board picked the Brewers. I think the Cubs were most picked on this board, which kinda makes sense being that it's a Cub fan board. The only other teams that I saw anyone on here picking were the Brewers and Cardinals (I picked the Cards...oops). I really have a hard time believing anyone on this board laughed at you for that. You have to say something really outrageously stupid like "I think RBIs and runs scored are the best ways to measure a hitter's ability" before you really get laughed at.

The Cubs will reach .500 however, it probably won't be until the last week of the season i.e., when it doesn't matter. This MO of two steps forward one step back takes a long time to reflect any noteworthy results.

By the way, I'm still trying to figure out how Padres scored 11 runs Sunday with one the worst lineups I've seen this year. One could argue that lineup had one legitimate hitter - Gonzales...

They are one of the best teams in the league against LHP, as somebody pointed out last week. They can't hit righties to save their life but are solid against the lefties.

Thanks, I didn't look deeper than the statistics provided by WGN as the game aired - all I saw were sub .325 OBP's and low BA's.
