This can't be right....HE DRIVES IN RUNS WITH HIS GLOVE DAMNIT!

Isn't this joke getting old yet?

It's not a joke..

Anyways I wipe my arse with any list that doesn't have D. Lee as a top defensive firstbaseman. That list..that is the joke.

I love how Murton gets a -1 rating in CF even though he only played there one inning, and didn't have a misplay (there was a bloop that no CF could have caught and Pujols's homer that was long gone).

Also, I watched the Daryle Ward at first base games, and there is no way that he was better than Derrek Lee has been at first this year.

I don't trust most of the other rankings either, but I think those are the only two that are blatantly wrong.

Some very large discrepancies with the UZR stuff that was released not too long ago.

EDIT: I wouldn't worry about 1B too much, those ratings are going to be pretty worthless.

Did a Cardinals fan or The Sporting News come up with these ratings? Because being down here I get Cardinals games and I have watched him and I am sorry but any defensive rating that has him on top is ridiculous.

The entire premise is measuring range... of which DLee doesn't have all that much. That doesn't make him a below average first baseman, though... he is probably the best in the game at receiving throws from the other infielders... which is a much larger part of 1B defense than his range.

That's why you don't need to worry about 1B too much.
