So is EPatt the new Iowa Cub LF or what?

:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

His defense at 2b is pretty bad.

His value in LF is worse.

How the hell does Cedeno have more walks than Ks?

WTF is with that kid?

His ISOD is freaking impressive too. Is this really our Ronny Cedeno?

This is amazing.

Is it time to start questioning whether Cedeno is a better option than Izturis? ~70 ABs is still a small sample but it's getting pretty close to being noteworthy.

Yeah, but isn't that what the minors are for? His defense isn't going to get any better at 2B if he's playing in LF everyday.

Especially since it's not a physical thing, like he lacks the speed or arm strength to play a position.

Cedeno needs to be promoted to the majors, Pagan sent back to the minors.

Main 2 reasons.

1. The Cubs are playing with 1 backup IF. This is the reason we get Izturis batting with RISP in a close/late game. Gives the team more flexibility to PH in situations like last night (which Izzy actually came thru).

2. Moves Pagan to the OF in Iowa, and Patterson back to 2B.

I wouldn't mind the move for those 2 reasons, but it does create a situation on the major league club where there is again no center fielder that can play against LHP.

I don't think that's a big issue. Our 3 best hitters are RH, plus Barrett and DeRosa have significant R/L splits. Having Pie learn to hit LHP isn't that big a deal, he's going to have to do it sometime.

Felix Pie should be playing almost everyday. RHP or not.

AAAA

It's a little early to be sticking him with that label.

Perhaps.

Yes, and even with many players like that the team struggled against LHP last year, and this year are only averaging 3.14 runs per game when a left-hander goes to the mound. To put Pie out there, who is probably a little worse than Jones right now against LHP, would just make it more likely that the Cubs struggles against left-handers would continue.
