I actually found myself considering the possibility that Alan will be the manager when Lou bolts after this season. Can't decide if I would want him though.

I just hope he's smart enough to include a out clause (ala Aramis) just in case the Cubs start to suck. I know that can't happen with Alan at the helm, but we are the Cubs, so you never know..

I'm pretty sure a similar sentiment floated around for a day or two in support of the maligned Bruce Kimm when he filled in for Baylor.

 

Lou has made some stupid bullpen decisions, but I don't have a lot to complain about with him. He uses the whole team, and the deficiencies that result only highlight how poorly constructed it is.
