Take with a grain of salt, but according to BleedCubbieBlue, Pie is supposed to be called up for tomorrows game.

Something has to give, and here's some info I have not seen anywhere else: I have heard today that Daryle Ward (or possibly Matt Murton or Cliff Floyd) is to go on the DL tomorrow (back trouble, allegedly, despite the fact that he pinch-hit today), and Felix Pie will be recalled. Good -- but ONLY if Pie is installed in CF every single day, batting sixth or seventh. Stay tuned.

He's ready to improve this team defensively and hopefully grow into a productive major leaguer with the bat.

Stick him 7th everyday vs. both RH'ers and Lh'ers and let him develop.

I hope Soto can do likewise at some point this Summer.

Seems like the right move if it happens. He should start in CF everyday for the rest of the year.

Fixed. No need to play duck duck goose in CF when Pie can provide stellar defense. Offense shouldn't be a factor considering who we're trotting out there almost every game which gives the Cubs a defensive and offensive liability.

I'd rather Pie be slightly below average at the plate and play awesome defense than have Jacque Jones be well below average at the plate and play awful defense. Did anyone notice his patented touchdown spike cutting off that double and throwing into the cutoff man yesterday?

I'm pretty sure Pie could easily outproduce Jones offensively right now. Jones has done nothing this year. He's a waste of a roster space.

I dont know why you needed to "Fix" what I said. It was pretty much the same exact thing.

Completely agree. He can't do much worse than Jones in every category.

Hell, I'll take

over Jones, offensively and defensively.

I read Bleedcubbieblue somewhat often, but I don't really know the answer to this question: how reliable is Al when it comes to stuff like this?

I was gonna say the same exact thing. We need something more credible then "I have heard today"... is all the clues he gives us about the source.

Bruce, great time to show up about now.

That's what I was thinking. I haven't seen anything anywhere about this, other than his blog. I won't hold my breath, because even if this does happen, there's no guarantee that Lou is going to start Pie everyday like he should be.

Totally agree with you.

I think whether Pie is in the lineup or not for Iowa tonight will be a clue. I doubt he plays tonight if he's being called up.

Pie is not in the lineup for Iowa tonight (I believe, not 100% sure though)

'bout freakin time. Pencil Pie in everyday in CF, and leave the 'strap' on the bench.

Just saw Iowa lineup no Pie! Ya baby! I'm looking forward to see Sori and Pie gunning down runners...Looking forward to tomorrow's game.

I imagine the groundscrew at Wrigley is estatic as well. Less time for them replacing those "baseball" size divets in the outfield after every game.

Let's hope this time it's for good. And let's hope when either Ward, Murton or Floyd come back from the DL (don't know which one) That Jones is finally a goner.

This drives me absolutely nuts. How hard is it for Jones to figure out how to not throw the ball straight into the ground every time? I bet I could go to any little league around the country and teach them not to spike the ball when they're throwing it. Why does Jones have such issues? It's ridiculous.

It's the "Yips". It's all mental. It has to be. I hope Pie is here to play every day in CF.

And why would someone who has a blog get "inside information" before Bruce Miles or other writters that cover the Cubs?

If Pie is called up, I hope it means Jones has been traded and not Jones is the everyday RF.

Might very well be Murton that is traded.
