You can't even make a decent team when you combine the rosters of the White Sox and the Cubs. Putting the best players from both rosters together wouldn't even win the NL Central.

I think if you added the CWS 3 best relievers (Jenks, Thornton, Logan) along with Buerhle and Garland, to the Cubs, they would have prevented significantly fewer runs. And you could probably benefit from Dye's power on the bench along with AJ taking over for Blanco (or starting). That team might be ahead of the Brewers by 2 games.

Dye could start over Jones/Floyd quite easily. He's gotten off to a slow start, but besides last year, I'm pretty sure he's a notorious slow starter. Don't forget that this guy nearly won the AL MVP last year.

But as for the original post, I'd agree that both Chicago teams are very bad.

Dye is certainly not a slow starter. Using OPS, April is the best month for him in his career.

Well I guess I was mistaken then.

Are the CWS locked into numerous unproductive long term contracts? How much are they paying for their mediocre team?
