It appears to me that Lou has given up on-field temper tantrums in favor of screwing around with the Chicago media. Can't blame him.

Wild speculation on my part, but Yadier Molina suffered an injury today and is out 4 to 6 weeks. I wonder if Barrett has been traded to the Cardinals.

LOL. Maybe Barrett is having dinner with Heidi Klum and can't make the game.

I can. The media hasn't been hard on him at all. A lot of easy questions for him to answer and he's obviously not ready for it. The people in the Chicago media are just doing their jobs. If Lou is getting bent out of shape over a couple of questions that aren't really that hard, then he really needs to retire again.

I think he's picking up Lou's dry cleaning.

Ahh...usefulness!

(ignoring the fact that he's got the 2nd most HRs and RBIs on the team)...

No Way! Why would the Cubs trade with the Cardinals. Don't be silly.

I can say for sure that he would come back to kill us.

Like I said, wild speculation. VERY wild speculation. :D

His .293 OBP this year would fit right in to their clubhouse.

This just in- Barrett decided to pursue his true love- making pizza. Eyre is going to be his delivery guy.

Bad hire...Eyre's 6.25 EPA (eaten pizza average) will kill the business

I don't think he is... Lou doesn't have to reveal the content of off-the-field meetings. Plus, he's managed in tougher media environments (NY). This isn't Dusty leaving the laid back Bay area for the scrutiny of the Chicago media.

I think this whole thing was blown out of proportion. If something happened in the clubhouse with Barrett, or anyone else, they should address it in house instead of making it public knowledge.

Yeah, but most of the Chicago media has it coming. Most, not all.

And we can only wish Lou is retiring.

I'll agree with both points.
