we lose 2 outta 3.

You actually think we'll win one?

We'll win one. The Sunday game they got a Rook going.

Yeah...that worked out well for us yesterday huh?

Actually it did! Until our bullpen took over...

don't suck [again]

I'm past the "don't suck". They will suck just hopefully at a lesser degree.

Contreras isn't going?

I don't think it's been determined. They have to juggle things because of the rain out/double header earlier in the week. I read that the rookie John Danks or Contreras could pitch on short rest or they could bring up Gavin Floyd... Danks has pitched well and he's a lefty. Considering the Cubs struggles against LHP, I'd prefer they not see two in this series.

Yeah, I agree. Floyd would be preferable.

Ozzie says Contreras is going. I think it's hysterical that he wants to send out an old man like that on short rest, but hey, Ozzie's a genius.

I just checked the probables and it looks like Jose will get the call after all.

Scouting Report:

White Sox: Due to Tuesday's rainout against the Yankees, Ozzie Guillen has decided to bring back Contreras on three days' rest. Guillen said they will monitor Contreras' pitch count, but if he's pitching well against the Cubs, they will let him go and then try to give him an extra day off later in the week, factoring in the team's off-day Thursday. Contreras, who lost his previous start -- against the Yankees -- despite allowing just two earned runs over 6 2/3 innings, has a 1-1 record with a 4.79 ERA against the Cubs but is 1-0 at Wrigley Field.

Cubs: Zambrano is coming off his best start of the season. Big Z held the Mets to one run on six hits over eight innings, his longest outing, and he walked three. Zambrano apparently listened to manager Lou Piniella's suggestion that he close his delivery. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 4.31 ERA in his career against the White Sox, including a 2-0 record last year.

I agree... I read the other stuff in the Suntimes a couple of days ago. I'm shocked that Contreras is going to pitch on short rest. Hopefully, the Cubs make them pay.

Great time to sit Jones.

Useless players for both teams will sit tomorrow. Oh the irony.

Let's just hope that DLEE plays. Wscr said that AJ is not playing today.

Can barrett legally chuck his bat into the sox bench?

I can care less if it's legal or not. Just do it!

Is Toby Hall back yet? If not, who is their backup?

Hall was called up yesterday. I only caught the tail end of it but AJ was not happy with Ozzie. Something is brewing there.

Seems to make sense to me. Hall has good #'s against Lilly.
