I've heard a lot of rumors about the Cubs being moved to Las Vegas. I just wanted to know if you heard this rumor, and are the Cubs really moving to Las Vegas or anywhere else?

-- Austin H., Knox, Ill.

Haven't heard that one, but can you imagine the sequin-studded uniforms if Mr. Vegas, Wayne Newton, bought the team?

i laughed.

Also in that mailbag:

The backpack is loaded with bullpen essentials, such as gum and candy, and is carried by whoever is the youngest member, which, in the Cubs' situation, is Rocky Cherry.

Rocky Cherry 08/19/79

Neal Cotts 03/25/80

Who is younger?

Or could it be, like it always has been, a rookie initiation?

Good work Carrie.

Regardless of whoever wrote that email with the Vegas rumor (absurd), it's Carrie's job to select good questions, whether they be provocative, topical or some nature of "lighthearted material / good p.r." Including such a question is lazy.

Does anyone who seriously follows the Cubs religiously browse cubs.com?

I think it's funny that Muskat was irked by the email about the blue jerseys and then follows up with answering the Las Vegas question. Hilarious!

yeah I liked the blue jersey one

When will Big Z get to wear his blue alternate jersey again?

-- David C., Broken Arrow, Okla.

For the 4,364,297th time, the Cubs are not using the blue jerseys this year. And Zambrano says he's OK with that.

Do the polls on the Cubs' Web site that we vote on affect decisions made by the Cubs?

-- Nathan H., Orlando, Fla.

I know general manager Jim Hendry is a big fan of the Web site, but he hasn't asked for my opinion over the years, so the answer is no.

At least we have the comfort of knowing that Edward K. from Indianapolis hasn't had any direct influence on Hendry's decision-making as of yet.

He's heard "a lot" of rumors? Eh? I have a feeling this guy is the one everyone likes to play games with at work. Gullible.

I remember one time at work everyone had this one chump convinced that Ray Finkle really existed. LOL.

Was Ed K from Indy the guy that was singing Neifi's praises? I know he wrote to Muskat with a completely assinine question, but what exactly it was eludes me at the moment...
