Hirsh is certainly playing with fire today.

maybe he needs some intensity too?

Not sure, didn't actually watch the game.

On another note, the outfield responds to my criticism by posting an 11.75 thus far after posting 4 points going to today.

I see Z hasn't put it together yet..................... UGH!

Trade him. He's clearly hurting your chances to win it all.

Waiting for a trade offer.

Just got to keep it close right now as Tim has a big advantage in starts right now. With 5 starters remaining to Tim's 2, I'm only down 24.5, not bad. Assist to Nate Robertson, though.

He's like this every year! He'll win me some games as the year goes on!

What the hell is wrong with Murton? His defense was awful and probably cost Z three runs today. The Pirates didn't exactly crush the ball. Maholm types must just drool knowing they won't have to throw any strikes when they face the Cubs.

i sometimes wonder if soriano could tell you where the strike zone was if you asked him.

with the exception of the one play today, murton's seemed ok to me defensively.

two plays today - ball bounced past him in the first too. his baserunning has been poor and his plate approach has gone to hell. I hate watching this team.

Yeah, I've was really looking forward to watching Murton progress this year. I haven't seen it.

Heh.

Of my 4 starts so far this week....

3 of them have been:

9 IP, 3 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K (4 TBA)

8 IP, 7 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K (8 TBA)

9 IP, 7 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K (7 TBA)

for a total of about 123.5 points.

(Also a decent 7 inning, 2 ER outing from Owings for 15 points)

And none of those outings are from Cole Hamels (who faces the Cubs) or Johan Santana.

BTW, why is Pagan up? I know he was decent today, but isn't that overkill in the OF? Why not just play Pie?

Because Lou doesn't play Pie.

yeah, I don't understand that either. Oh well, gives me a chance to take some Pie games in anyway.

This week, my team is the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

My bats were hitting less than .200 for the week going into today. They've decided to add an 0-14 to start off this day.

But, have no fear. Richie Sexson and his .165 AVG and Scott Rolen with his .200 AVG haven't taken their bats out of the bat rack yet today.

Team batting average of .155 so far this week and

For the time being I have taken the lead over HBC. Brandon Webb seems to have remembered that he's a Cy Young Award pitcher (3-hit shutout through 5 innings). I have Washburn and he has Arroyo going later tonight. He's had three single-digit starts this week (Zambrano, Harang, Rodriguez), and after tonight I have two remaining starts to his one, so I think I have a good chance of giving him his first taste of defeat this year.

Seeing as Edwin Encarnacion was just demoted to AAA, anyone interested in trading a third baseman?

Webb came THISclose to a complete game shutout. The only run he gave up came on the second out in the bottom of the 9th. At least he did get a complete game.

I just sent you a PM about a possible deal.
