Sean Marshall's rehab stint at Daytona was only one start; he's off to Iowa now.

Ryan Harvey will be joining the D-Cubs Thursday - supposedly only as a rehab assignment because the FSL has the DH.

Hopefully to rehab his status as a serious prospect. I know he's only 22 but if he can't hit .270+ and put up an OPS above .800 I have serious doubts he'll ever amount to much.

Dunno about that .800+ OPS, especially in a pitcher's league like the SL and his poor eye.

I guess anything would be an improvement over his .248/.290/.722 line from last year but at the very least I'd like to see him get the average up in the .270 range and his OBP above .300 for a change.

How long do you think Harvey is going to be at Daytona? I'm kind of hoping he'll be with Tennesee when they visit Mississippi in May.
Are you a big fan of the whiff without the walks or something?

From Nate:

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have sent outfielder Valerio Heredia to extended spring training at the Cubs facility in Mesa. Outfielder James Adduci will join the Chiefs roster from Daytona.

I like to see players possess a tool that you just can't teach.

And he is a tool.

But what if that is the only tool?

Who else is in the starting rotation for Iowa besides Marshall, Guzman and Marmol? Gallagher?
Mathes, O'Malley, and Walrond. None of those guys are prospects.

Not so sure I'd say that about Walrond, he's a lefty and he's been throwing well. There's always room on a ML roster for a lefty reliever that can throw strikes. In fact, I can think of a team right now, in Chicago, that plays in the NL, that could probably use one.....

Walrond is 30, he's never been able to throw strikes with any kind of consistency, and his AAA numbers haven't been stellar the last few years or his two cups of coffee in the major leagues. The chances of him turning it on at this age and sustaining it for any length of time is very low.

Ohhhh yeah Evergreen Park represent!!

I played ball with Adduci when I was younger, he was hyped cause of his dad, but was never really that impressive. I can't for the life of me figure out why he wouldn't go play in college rather than sign on as an organizational player from the 42nd round.
