I don't know, watch the replay. He was barely around 3rd when Jones fielded that ball AND he hesitated in his throw (only to do the hopity skipity thing).

 

Yeah, he might have got him, but I'd think they'd have sent him on Pie as well. You have to gun down quite a few runners before teams start respecting your arm.
