Cedeno is playing after that nonsense yesterday? God.

Maybe Lou wants to show Cedeno he has faith in him? Beats me.

No one has faith in Cedeno. There is no reason for him to not be in the minor leagues. He's a terrible baseball player.

He'll probably have an OFOR today and dig a further hole atleast with the fans. Hopefully, Lou will then recognize that he shouldn't start him.

Rosenthal says the Big Z are a week away from being tabled until the end of the season due to the pending Trib sale.

Is the first pitch at the top of the hour or what?

Hey Fred, do you have pitches per plate appearance info for our guys? I'm wondering if my eyes have been deceiving me with a few players. For example, Izturis seems to be seeing a ton of pitches per plate appearance.

I've noticed the same thing. It seems like Cesar has had some decent at-bats.

No.... only have P/PA for the team. What I've been noticing is that the team seems to be real patient the first time through the lineup..... like 4.5 to 6.0 P/PA, then after that they start swinging at everything and bring that number right back down to 3.71 overall.

Izturis is at 3.67 P/PA... his career average 3.38

Why can't Lou just put in Theriot at SS and DeRosa at 2nd? Lineup would look way better

It definitely would, but even with Lou's acceptance of putting players where they are not entirely comfortable and may make defensive mistakes (Sori in CF, Murton in RF, Theriot in the OF, etc.) that doesn't seem to apply to Theriot playing SS, which tells me that they must have had some really bad experience with him trying SS in ST.

Yup-it's typical Izturis. He goes deep into the count a great deal, but he has enough 1 and 2 pitch at-bats to drag down his overall P/PA. The longer he goes into the count, the more likely it is that he will take the next pitch.

I would like to see Marquis make a real statement against his ex-mates.

Go CUBS !!

Would be nice. He's pitching well now too. I think it's probable.
