Is E-Patt a little banged up? I noticed that he pinch hit the last two days, and is apparently not in the starting lineup today.

Someone said a few days ago that his grandpa died and that's why he missed a few games. But I also saw that he's PH the last few days. I don't know why he's out though.

CPatt was activated from the bereavement list because of the death of his grandfather a few days ago, so I'd guess EPatt had the same problem.

I talked to Eric Wednesday as he drove back from Atlanta. He didnt think he'd make it in time for Wednesday's game...but he did pinch hit so maybe he just missed the start!

Oh, and Wellington Castillo isn't 20 yet and he's batting third and hit a HR today. Nice!

Meh. I could do better than that. It would be nice if I got some run support.

Look on the bright side; you're getting used to what it will be like if you make it to the Cubs.

Des Moines Register[/url]"]“I didn’t know until after batting practice that I’d be playing,” Moore said. “I knew there was a chance because of Casey’s situation, so I prepared myself like I was playing.”

Moore’s blast was Iowa’s second grand slam of the successful home stand in which the Cubs won six of eight games. Micah Hoffpauir did it on April 14 against Round Rock.

“I got a good pitch over the plate, and I didn’t miss it for the first time this year, Moore said.

Hoffpauir extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a double in the fifth inning, and newcomer Mike Kinkade had a good game as well.

He tripled in his first at-bat as a Cub after staying behind at the spring training facility in Mesa, Ariz., to recover from a broken left hand.

He started the game at first base, but also will be used at third, left and right field throughout the season.

“That’s been my role for a long time,” he said. “I’m kind of a corner guy. I don’t think I have a natural position anymore.”

Petrick had the sinker working too, with 6 of 8 GB outs.
