The Jays placed closer B.J. Ryan on the 15-day DL with a sprained elbow. It also sounds like it could be even worse, since he's scheduled to visit Dr. Andrews. Ryan has been absolutely torched in two of his games recently. If he's going to be out for an extended period I wonder if they might be interested in one of the Cubs' relief pitchers, since we have an excess.

They are going to use Jason Frasor as thier closer now. He had a real solid line out of the bulpen last year after the break 2.65 ERA, .88 WHIP, 17 K in 17 IP and has done well so far this year. They could be looking for bulpen arms, though Im not sure what they'd be willing to give up to get them.

Good thing I traded Ben Sheets and Matt Holliday for Chris Carpenter and BJ Ryan before the season started.

Will Ohman and Cliff Floyd/Jacque Jones for Vernon Wells. Hell, they can have Novoa also.

Not with that big ugly contract he has.

I'm sure the Blue Jays would be more than happy to throw in a few mil per year to help cover the cost of Vernon's contract. I mean, after all, look at the deal they're getting.
