4 games in and he's looked good.

He had a good April last year before unraveling in May, but let's hope he keeps up his performance this year.

I have no doubt that consistent pitching will keep his performance at a satisfactory level. Even if it isn't during save situations.

As funny as the guy is, I want him to do well just because him being on the team is incredibly entertaining. I'd love for him to have a few great years with the Cubs and then maybe get into the broadcasting side of things for the club when his career is done.

Perfect Bob Brenly replacement! He would make the games so funny.

To me May is the month that tells me more about where the season is heading than April. I've seen too many teams struggle in April and then turn it on in May, and vice versa. April stats for anyone aren't going to carry much value, IMO. If Dempster continues to pitch well through May, I'll start thinking he's back. Obviously I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far. Seemed like he was falling into his old ways the first week, the Lou came out and laid down the law a little bit -- he's been pretty good since.

He looked real good today. As long as he can keep his sinker down and that slider working he should work out well for us.

The key for Dempster is a lot of work and often. I think the reason he fared so well his first year in the closer role was because he was strechted out that spring to be a starter.

Dempster was also great the first part of last year. It was when the Cubs started losing and Dusty refused to use him in non-save situations to keep him sharp that he started to tank.
