Haha. Anyone see the guy behind homeplate with his shirt off and rubbing his nipples?

Damn Extra Innings, I missed that.

Check out the game archive (assuming it's the CSN game).

Lou a little calmer today

Yeah. Still a funny press conference. It seems reporters are now scared to ask him questions.

Did anyone notice that Lee changed his batting stance? In his career before 2005... It was more closed... and in his 2005-2006 seasons it was wide open... and now it seems half-closed...

Nope. The dude playing with his nipples was much more interesting.

Lou wants to help Murton get his stroke back with scattered late inning appearances......Brilliant.

Reminds me of another Cubs manager.

so i guess you guys would be satisfied if murton started but we were losing??

How does the poor-fielding old dude with a .746 OPS help us win more than starting Murton would?

im not saying he does, but constantly complaining about it when we're up 7 runs seems a bit dumb IMO.

Bah. I complained plenty about Macias and Neifi starting in games that the Cub won. It's process, not results. Proper process makes everybdoy happier in the long run.

also leads to more W's in the long run

Now there's a logical leap - Piniella doesn't play Murton every day so he's Dusty Part II.

I'd prefer that Murt play over Cliff too, but please. Piniella couldn't be more different from Dusty in the way he has handled this team thus far.

Some of you really are fixated on Dusty too much. Its like some kind of sick obsession.

Closed or Open, I'm happy when he hits period. In all seriousness never noticed it. Will have to look tomorrow.

The fact that Lee is currently OPSing .956 is all I care about. (ARam is OPSing .972, we need him back soon).

Also, today, Dempster through 10 pitches, 9 for strikes. Good deal.

Good or bad, It probably has to do with Gerald Perry. It also likely is related to having a better view of the pitcher and the ball.

I think Lee is going through the normal adjustment phase of adapting how pitchers are throwing to him. Going into 05, the book on him was you could bust him inside and tie him up. He opened his stance, and started to get around on the inside pitch and was killing it. Word gets around, and they start pitching him outside, which requires him to close it up a bit to have plate coverage on that pitch.

These guys are constantly tweaking, to be better prepared for how opposing teams are pitching to them.
