I was watching the Orioles the other night. Corey still has big problems with that fastball in his eyes. The Twins' pitcher got him out a couple times with that pitch. His swing is shorter though. Still a little loopy.

I still have like three baseballs with his signature that I got when he was just starting out. Hopefully he becomes a super star so they are worth something.

He had a solo homer tonight.

Selfish bastard. I heard he even turned a kid down for an autograph on his way to the plate.

He also clubbed a baby seal and ate a baby.

Corey Patterson is a distant memory, lets talk about how the Cubs will destory the career of Felix Pie.

If by destroy, you mean destroy his minor league carreer, by making him the best baseball player who ever lived. Then yes. :P

Dusty taught him that.

I missed my fantasy draft, and ended up being given him automatically. That's the first time I've thought about him in a long time.

Did anyone else hear Dusty doing one of the baseball games last week? He was talking about he used to coach lefties to look for the high fastball (i.e., to swing at). I think he even said he worked with CPatt to attack the high fastball or something.

I nearly threw my drink through the tv.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care about Corey any more? The Cubs didn't destroy him, but they also didn't do him any favors. I wish him well, but I'm not going to follow him.

I doubt it - but a lot of us have fond memories of him and probably some follow his career quite closely. Given that he was a "can't miss" prospect for this team just a few years ago, I can't see why someone starting a thread about him every so often is a bad thing.

Corey is still my favorite player.

Yup. I love following ex-Cubs especially those that came up through the system. I developed a soft spot for the Red Sox when Buckner got traded there which still lingers.

I'm still a Corey fan. Was my favorite Cubs player when he was with us. Always a nice guy to talk to when the team was traveling etc.

I saw that. Corey got a hit and Dusty said: "I used to tell Corey all the time to look for that pitch."
