And another win!

Nice to see we wont fall below .500 this spring. They should be able to carry that into the regular season.

Anyhow, Cubs will be traveling to Las Vegas to face off against the Seattle Mariners. They will be the away team in Game 1. The next day, the home team.

This game will be televised on WGNTV, which is Dan Plesac-free. You can also listen to it on WGN 720.

Cubs #2 starter Ted Lilly will be facing off against Miguel Batista.

No offense, but good success in spring training doesn't translate into success into the regular season.

I can't wait for this stupid exhibition to end already.

Whats wrong with just being excited with a win? I think I've been around baseball long enough to realize that ST success doesn't equal regular season success.

Whether it is spring training, I'm just happy to watch good baseball from the Cubs again. It's been a while since we've seen that. I know it doesnt mean much, but it means something. It should still look like a good sign.

Is it just me, or does Weaver look a lot older in that pic?

He reminds me of Randy Johnson.

I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to say here. Most people are well aware that spring training and the regular season do not necessarily carry over, however, I'm a bit miffed by the "no offense" comment. The Cubs are 2nd in OB% and 4th in runs in the NL this Spring. Regardless of whether these numbers carry over into the regular season at the same rate, they are a VERY GOOD sign.

Edit: I get it now, you meant to not offend Omar.

The Mariner's official site and Bruce Miles both have Miguel Batista getting the start for the Mariners tonight, not Ramirez.

Partied too much after the WS win.

This is *exactly* what I was thinking.

They had Haracio Ramirez yesterday... right here:

Up next: The Padres face the D-backs at 1:05 p.m. PT on Friday at Peoria Stadium, as Chris Young gets his final start of the spring. The Mariners are in Las Vegas for a 7:15 p.m. game against the Cubs. Horacio Ramirez will start, with Jeff Weaver in relief.

Thats their game review of their first game of a split squad.

Up next: Seattle travels to Las Vegas to play the first of two exhibitions against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. Right-handed starter Miguel Batista has allowed 10 runs and 23 hits in 11 innings over his last two starts. By contrast, Matt Cain, who starts for the Giants against the A's at AT&T Park, has yielded four runs and 10 hits in 11 2/3 innings in his previous two outings.

I guess I'll change it back to Batista.

I hope this Week goes by fast...

Fixed.

I'm going to opening day at wrigley. I'm so far beyond pumped it's not healthy. I hope this week goes really darn fast.

Anyone know the lineups and who else is expected to pitch for the Cubs besides Lilly?

Line-ups usually come out 1-3 hours before the game.. but I'm guessing it will be the opening day line-up.

Whew. I was really looking forward to watching this game on television but I've got to work later than I was scheduled for. LUCKILY, this crappy clock radio in my office gets WGN 720, albeit static-y.

What I find strange is that I get WGN 720 here in Carbondale, more than 300 miles away from Chicago, but when I went to school in Bloomington, I couldn't get WGN for s#*t.

I can't wait.

When I travel down south, sometimes I can get WGN 720 even when I am still 50 miles north of Marion. Which is pretty cool somtimes, I can listen to chicago sports radio while I am driving. .
