Pods and Erstad at the top! Way to go Ozzie! Well we'll certainly have a lot of sacrifices!

And then Ozzie said in SI that the White Sox hit too many HR last year?

Go (new favorite team, thanks for ruining the CWS Kenny and Ozzie!)

You've got to score fewer runs somehow. That's how you win the world series.

I feel for you, but my Spidey sense says you might be looking in the wrong place for sympathy.

I think this is the right place for empathy actually. or was until the end of last year.

Empathy is one thing; everyone here can empathize with a manager making the wrong choices at the top of the lineup.

Sympathy is another; Ozzie's fetish with "grinders" or whatever your preferred term is was going to bite someone in the ass eventually.

I believe the obvious choice (proximity) is to just start being a Cubs fan.

Over - under on how long before we read articles about "Sox fans becoming Cubs fans"? :x

MAN, those articles pissed me off.

last i checked, pinnacle's over/under on wins for the white sox is 88.5.

better get those under bets in, folks!

The thing is, if they lose with this plan, the media will blame execution of the strategy, as opposed to the strategy itself, because they all love the theory that a manager can make things happen and win games.

If they win one game with the help of pods/erstad doing little things, and a bunch more with the help of the sluggers and good pitching, they will credit the little things.

You could start rooting for the Pirates. Our management never does anything stupid. ](*,) #-o

I cannot believe that there are media types in Chicago who think the Sox didn't make the playoffs last year because they didn't do the "little things" well.

What they didn't do is pitch as freakishly well, but somehow no one realizes this, including their idiot GM.

the Cubs are a perfect example of what happens when you move away from being a power team.

its not like the 05 sox were weak, they had over 200 home runs.
