Those were 2 great games to push us back above .500. Cubs will now be traveling to Tucson to face the Colorado Rockies at Hi Corbett Field.

According to the Rockies website, this will be on FSN Rocky Mountain. It will also be available on MLB.tv. If there's any other broadcasts, or more info on this one, feel free to post it here.

Ted Lilly will make his third start this spring. He will go against Jason Hirsh.

It is Hirsh's spot in the rotation for the Rocks, but dont quote me on that.

If you follow the Rockies closely, I'm sure you're right.. I just wanna wait on official word so I dont waste my time doing the wrong Match-ups..

And you were right!

The Rockies are likely to start right-hander Jason Hirsh, who appears in line to be the No. 4 starter. Also, righty Brian Lawrence is scheduled to throw, but could appear in a Minor League game.

Game Notes

The Cubs combined to belt 35 hits, including five home runs, and score 27 runs in their split squad games yesterday.

Both Cubs squads posted five-run first innings … in Mesa against the Mariners, Chicago scored 14 runs on 16 hits through the first four innings of play.

Cubs starting pitchers have walked two or fewer batters in each of the team’s last 13 games, including six no-walk outings … overall, Cubs starters have walked two or fewer in 19 of 20 games this season (March 7, Zambrano, 3 walks).

Since March 8, Cubs starters have allowed two or fewer earned runs in eight of the team’s last 13 games.

Derrek Lee leads the club with a .513 batting average (min. 25 AB) and has reached base safely in 11 of 12 games played … the .513 batting average leads the Majors.

The Cubs have stolen 21 bases this spring, and have been caught just twice … the 21 stolen bases rank third among NL clubs as Colorado leads with 26 swipes and Florida is second with 22.

The Cubs’ .913 success rate in stolen bases (21-for-23) leads the Majors … the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are second with an .854 success rate (35-for-41).

Anyone have any idea who is starting the next two games? I will be attending both

After today? According to Vance's link, Marquis is supposed to start tomorrow and Prior on Thursday.

Rich Hill pitches on Thursday as well. Hill is scheduled to pitch all of the remaining innings (after Prior exits). Edited by 98navigator

So Rich Hill is going 8 innings?

Is this supposed to be some sort of philosophical thing?

Wow... so trippy...

I can't believe how happy I am to see this fact!

Agreed. And even more than that, Rich Hill has not walked a single batter all spring while striking out 10 in 10 innings. If thats not a good sign about his ability to carry forward the success from the second half of last year, I dont know what is.

Hill makes it look so easy. Pitch Strikes and attack the zone.

That's great. He had a great spring in 2005 too. I wonder if he can have another stellar year anywhere close to 2005 again? So far everything matches up with 2005's ST.
