third place? Did they post the totals?

No. They did not post totals. I smell something fishy, but I guess there's nothing we can do but keep voting.

I'm keeping up with who has said they voted and such so I can compare to the final total they announce.

Can I get a few new people to vote?

can you use the same address? i sent 2. i threw in "geaux cubs", in case that makes it look more authentic.

I wouldn't use the same address.

I know they are scrutinizing these. The numbers don't make sense.

My suggestions:

1. On at least the first vote, write a brief message and sign it with a first and last name.

2. If voting from different addresses, vary the signed name some. Maybe use a middle name or mispell the last name.

Thanks for the votes, guys. I'm thinking that we made such a scare last year that they were ready for it this year.

Tell them that if the Cubs are not the home team that people from around the country will continually call throughout the season and jam their phone lines.

What has Monroe ever done for me?

One time in Monroe, LA, I choked on a steak and my dad whacked me on the back.

I voted three times.

If I were you, I'd blame Monroe for the choking.

You got one from me. Unfortunately, my school email is down ATM... once it gets back up though I'll try to send another.

Thank you very much. I know we're fighting an uphill battle, but the effort is greatly appreciated.

Would it help if we were sending these emails through proxies? It could be that they're checking out the ISP and disqualifying votes over that... though I doubt they'd go to such effort.

I too agree that I doubt they'd go through that much effort. I wouldn't worry about trying to fool them too much.

If they're disqualifying votes, I doubt there's much we can do to stop it.

I did counter a bit today when I dropped off 20 letters voting for the Cubs signed by some co-workers who are either Cub fans or really good friends who'd vote that way because they like me.

I went to Monroe once..... but it was closed.

Don't question it, just vote.

Fred has been to Monroe.

And the sentiment is correct, vote.

In fact have your wives, girlfriends, neighbors, co-workers vote.

If not to help a Cub fan, to stick it to some Astros fans!

Shouldn't interfere with the will of the majority.

Astro's coverage for you again.

Meh. I have to put up with both the Astros and the Rangers being considered "home teams". Nevertheless, you have my vote.

I could deal with the Rangers. The Astros, not so much. Thanks for the vote!

I'm in the same boat with the TV, but thankfully my local paper doesn't cover baseball outside of the local college. And yes Vance, you can count on my votes.
