I love their comments box. FWIW I still can't believe they published me totally ripping their credibility.

The comments are simply linked to a board like this one. They will leave criticism up as long as it doesn't violate the TOS.

I thought there was an article that included our quotes calling them out?

If you read the comments under today's story Link, you'll see there's an Astro fan who is none to happy with the possibility of the Cubs winning this.

And then there is a Cubs fans response. I'm not sure where Monroe is in the state. Vance, how far are you from Houston anyway?

Depending on which route you take and how fast you drive, approximately 6 hours. I can make it faster, but I go back roads and speed.

Well, it's probably double that to Chicago then.

True. But for years, you could watch more Cubs games on TV in Monroe than you could Astros. If they wanted to make a decision on geography, they'd choose the Rangers. In fact, many of the people who voted for the Cubs were more an anti-Astros vote. They said the Astro fans feel like they are "entitled" to be the home team and throw out the geography argument until someone mentions the Rangers. Then they want to use who has the most fans.

I smell box stuffing as well. It happened when the front office lost the votes that would have given the Cubs the win the first time. It'll be pretty funny when Houston loses twice.

WILL WE HAVE A THIRD VOTE?!?!?!?!?!

Not so much. It included excerpts, but not the worst of them. They spun it to seem as if they appreciated us alerting them to when the votes actually hit the office.

This Confused Reader guy is pretty cool:

I could care less about MLB but I know more Brave fans than either of those teams mentioned.

That comment thread is going to be the place to be

The bad news is that it's the comments for the update. When the update goes away, they'll delete it from the forum.

But I'm sure if the Cubs win, the comments on that Sunday's story will be fun to read.

I just wish I had this emoticon for the forum.

OK Vance, now that this mission is over, now its time for your next project, getting Henry Blanco voted into the All Star Game

Once All-Star ballots are out, we will formulate proper strategy. I'm thinking Lee, Ramirez, and Barrett should be our focus this year. :D

Screw that, get Sanjaya voted off Idol.

Sorr, I never have and never will watch Idol.

I'd say Soriano too, but he'll probably get in on name recognition alone. I'm up for helping out with getting Lee, Ramirez, and Barrett into the game.

I just called the sports department to ask how the vote went. All I got was a "we're still counting votes", "we got a lot of votes today" and that they'll announce it Sunday in an effort to keep some "mystery" in it.

That's about right. Of course, I don't like the sound of "We got a lot of votes today..."

The fewer the new votes, the more likely we win.

BTW, who did you speak with?

If DLee keeps it up and is going to do what I think he's going to do, he's not going to need our help.

With Pujols in the same league, yes he will.

Not after his roid suspension.
