I've invented at least 5 more e-mail addresses and voted on each.

I even made a e-mail: astrosbiggiofan@yahoo.com

AND THEN VOTED CUBS!!!!

Awesome.

HAHA! My letter said something to the effect of: The only excitement expected in Houston is Biggio getting his 3,000 hit and then what?!?! I'd rather watch the Chicago Cubs................

I'm starting to think they may just split the coverage.

That would actually be a smart idea. I emailed them with it last year, but never received a response. Of course, Tuesday would have been the day to announce that instead of getting everyone worked up over a run-off.

Doing that now would be rather anti-climatic. I'd be open to it. We'll see.

Back in the lead....

Link.

Houston and Chicago traded one-vote leads for much of the afternoon before the Cubs pulled ahead late. The final tally of the day, which closed at 5 p.m., had Chicago leading by six votes, 223-217.

This will surely inspire another round of Astros votes, so please don't let up. We can win this thing!

Keep those votes coming!!!!

Wow, they've received almost as many votes in the "run-off" as they did in the original voting.

My feeling is that both sides are appealing to friends who are non-fans or fans of other teams to vote. I know today I secured votes from one Dodger fan, two Braves fans, and three Yankee fans.

Also:

The neck-and-neck nature of today's proceedings had fans trying to find a third way to resolve things.

"Why not instead of declaring one winner, have dual home teams?" said Vance Nickelson, a Cubs fan from Monroe. "Since the Astros and Cubs are rivals, you could create a race for the NL Central as a feature. There would be tons of possibilities with this format, even including a section that showed which team was ahead in the standings from week to week."

Some of it. I dropped off 45 at 11:00 today and another batch of 15 not mine but using my letter was dropped off at 2:30 or so.

There's still more to be turned in.

What is the "prize" for winning this?

Free Gas for life complements of Vance.

Ethanol or methane?

However, if any of you ever come through Monroe, I'll introduce you to some wonderful cuisine.
